Well this is a turn up for the books. Outta nowhere, Duke Nukem has started tweeting. Not only that, his website has had a lick of paint and has a great massive countdown clock ticking away. Could this mean a new game? God I hope so.
Duke was always known for his over the top violence, alien destruction and chick loving ways but a troubled development over 2011’s Duke Nukem Forever (forever in development hell), seemed to put the man into a retirement home.
At least that was up until a few days ago when this hit the interweb:
The King is back. Line up, ladies. pic.twitter.com/jiyifNvWzL

Since this tweet, The King has been engaging with fans and developers at Gearbox about what he’s been up to over the last 5 years. It mainly involves Chicks and Aliens.
Get the chewing gum ready
He was certainly more of a hero in the original PlayStation Era. A true embodiment of the 1980s macho-men. With the 20th Anniversary of Duke Nukem 3D coming up, I am hoping that this countdown clock is ticking away for a new game.
Developers Gearbox picked up the licence in 2010 and have only released the aforementioned Duke Nukem Forever. It was an OK game, nothing revolutionary, but not Superman 64 bad.
Gearbox will be heading up the creation of this game, but they appear to be busy with creating Battleborn DLC. They are also starting production with Borderlands 3 so don’t be surprised if the reveal is a new build of the original Duke Nukem 3D.
I guess we’ll just have to wait until 1.30 am (UK time) on the 2nd September to find if the Duke will be wanting cement for his crown. I best get the chewing gum on order.
