Back in May, Warner Bros Games announced that they were bringing the first two Dark Knight stories to “modern consoles”. Batman: Return to Arkham was to launch in July. However, this didn’t happen and everything went quiet. That is until today.
Today, a comparison trailer for Batman: Return to Arkham has hit the internet. It shows off the differences of Arkham Asylum & Arkham City by showing the PlayStation 3 and PS4 versions side by side.
By utilising the Unreal Engine 4, the differences are instantly noticeable and even in the trailer you can see the work developer Virtuous have been pouring into this.

Coupled with this spangly new video comes a release date of 21st October for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
A quick thought on Batman: Return To Arkham
What’s better is that the collection includes all DLC from both Asylum and City from the off. That means the excellent Harley Quinn’s Revenge story is included on the disc! I’m still puzzled why Arkham Origins has been excluded, I’m guessing it is because it wasn’t developed by Rocksteady.
We’re also missing the reason for the first delay. Warner Bros & Rocksteady never confirmed the reasons why. Rumours are circulating that there the game wouldn’t run with the new engine but it seems like everything is coming along smoothly.
If you’ve not played any of the Arkham games, this package will be worth it. Especially now that you won’t have to search your Bat cave for your Xbox 360 or PS3. You can easily pair this collection with last year’s Arkham Knight for the complete Rocksteady trilogy.
Here’s a few images to whet your appetite for 21st October.
